Where to place:

• Place them out of the elements and where they will not be lost.

If possible, place them between the smart meter metal housing box and the structure supporting it. Generally, they can be slid between the building and box to hold them in place and keep them together in extreme weather conditions.

• The Smart DOTs only need to be within 5 feet of the smart meter to work. (Therefore finding the closest protected location is far more important than being right next the smart meter.

• Multiple smart meters in one location: For those with all their smart meters in 1 location / or living in a multi-unit complex with several meters clustered together, 1 Smart DOTs Set can cover all the meters within a 5 foot radius.

Helpful Hints and Additional Information

• When ordering Family Packages - the 1 Laminated Smart Meter Card can be included as Starter Packages.

• For those who want use a regular set of sticky Smart DOTs for their smart meters = we recommend keeping 1 set in package and using clear packing tape to wrap up the package to protect them (to hold them together and seal them in the package).  Do not try to adhere them to the actual smart meter or equipment  ̶  due to different weather conditions and the glues used, they will either fall off the equipment or come apart in extreme heat and cold weather.

• An additional option would be to laminate them yourself and save.
